“Today, in our field, there is so much talent and recognition that we are reaching a saturation point. An artist should no longer strive only for breathtaking craftsmanship; he should, instead, try to help us live better, either by dressing the wounds that are constantly being opened by society, or by offering solutions to get us out of the mess we’re in…But it’s going to be difficult and we have a lot of work to do.” - Jean 'Moebius' Giraud

DRINK & DRAW_update

[9 x 12" - blue pencil, technical pen on 100lb/300series bristol board]

Have you ever nursed a drink? That's what I did the entire evening while I was at THE ORIGINAL DRINK & DRAW in Los Angeles this past Thursday night. But instead of a drink, I nursed this drawing.

I mean, I could've probably finished this mess within the first hour, but with good conversation (thank you, DAVE JOHNSON, DAN PANOSIAN and CASSANDRA POULSON - you guys are a riot), some decent food, and new people coming in and out - it was all I could do to stay focused in order to stay concentrated long enough to put the final touches. So, instead... it took 5 hours.

Yes, I know - I should be ashamed. Have a great weekend, all.
