Well, in all honesty, this took less than 90 minutes. Here's the thing - guy on the left took 7 minutes to draw and ink. Fella on the right? About twice, maybe three times that. Seams, slats, and tech take longer to draw than rivets and a belt, I guess.

ha, that's a funny illustration. I'm a huge fan of the Adi Granov Iron Man design, though.
is it me or does im sound like "cousin balki from perfect strangers" mixed with a little of that old billy chrystal snl character that says "you look marvel-ous" :)

Granov's IM is so not IM. It's like if US military made an Iron Man suit. All a bunch of slats and interlocked hunks of metal, it belongs along side Halo characters.
The original red and gold was microscopic chainmail!! Smooth and supple, yet stronger than steel girders!
That's so much higher tech than today's IM.
You hit it the mark with this one.
